Founding a small landscaping business that he ran for seven years before going to university, and crafting toys in his grandfather's workshop as a child, Mathew developed a strong devotion toward creating timeless objects and spaces at an early age. His passion drove him to complete a BFA in Design, that he now employs with 13 years of landscaping experience, to identify creative solutions in the construction process. Mathew's ethos aims to combine tried-and-true methods with new technologies, aiming to make every new oasis more accessible, and to realize them in ways that push the boundaries of what was achievable in the past.
In his free time, you will often find him developing tools and products in his rapid prototyping lab, or mountain biking with Oriole staff and friends. If you can't find him... he's in a tent somewhere far away.
